With this painting, I did a loose drawing and no inking. I spent half a day on the drawing at most. I wanted a lighter and softer painting which is why I did not use any inks. I also cranked up the color for this one.
Because this painting has a dark foreground and a light background, I did do a light underpainting on the subject first because I did not want my line art to disappear when I started throwing down washes. Typically, this is the only time I start painting the foreground - when I know I will be using lots of washes and gradients on the background. The background had no drawing at all, so I was mostly being loose and quick while painting it.
